Found this on the Internet and thought more than a few folks might enjoy. This is about a very early ball and cage valve design. I could not figure out where else to put this so valve selection seemed the best place. If not, Ross please move it somewhere else.
These describe an all metal sutureless ball and cage valve that could be implanted quickly. Apparently pretty long lasting, but I think there are a couple of folks on vr.com that have had other ball and cage valves for a longer period of time than 42 years. If so, you should send these folks a correction.

Unfortunately, for those of you that want the tried and true valve choice, the Magovern-Cromie is no longer manufactured or sold.
When I looked at it I thought that there might be potential for one of those small metal spikes to puncture something. Looks kinda scary to me.
