Lisa in Katy

Hi all! I don't come around much anymore, although I do lurk occasionally. Since I teach now, and no longer sit at a desk, I don't get on the internet as much as I used to.

Anyway, I wanted to say hi to everyone.

My five year anniversary is coming up on June 30. We will be celebrating a little early by taking a short family vacation to Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels (a waterpark). This trip will take place 5 years to the day from our pre-surgery trip to Sea World in San Antonio, where we also visited the waterpark. I'm sure that I won't be near as stressed on this trip!

I still don't have my own machine, even though I think that my insurance might cover at least part of it. I just don't feel like dealing with the paperwork hassle right now, even though I know that it should prove to be less hassle in the future. From what I've read in a few of the posts, I'm not sure of that anymore!

Well, I will talk to you later. I wish I could make the October reunion, but again, the schoolroom keeps me tied down!

Magnificent Seven.....

Magnificent Seven.....

Hey Lisa,

Congratulations!! Five years. Wow. It?s so great to hear from you and hear that you are doing well.

No way to slip out of the class room on ?sick leave? for a few days? It would sure be neat to see you in Chicago! I think the weekend its scheduled for is a three day weekend.

If you call the people at QAS they pretty much do all the paperwork for you. It's worth it, Lisa! Has your INR been pretty steady?

So nice to hear from you!! We?ve missed you.

Hi Lisa!!!!

So great to hear from you. Congratulations on year five:)
You have come a long way.

We will miss you in October.....but as Hank said. SAT another time! We had a nice time in Texas didn't we:D Keep in touch.

Hopefully the "Mag 7" will rise again! Now if we could just get Bob G to pop back in! Bob O Bob:confused: We miss you buddy.

Have a nice vacation too Lisa. I am taking Kara next week to a resort type water park up in the north woods, LOL. They love it! I think it gives us en excuse to act like a kid too. Take care.

Hi Lisa...

Hi Lisa...

Good to see you posting again and thought I'd say Hi.

If you keep checking this thread you may find that Dick Vincent will reply at some stage in the future and maybe Bob Gleason as well. Dick and Bob just pop in once in a while.

I'm sure Janie would have been along too but she's had great problems posting and neither Hank or Ross can figure out why. It appears to be some technical problem........So, that's all of the 'magnificent seven' accounted for, all still around, however, some more active than others.

Take care and keep in touch,

Janie

Janie

Hey Mag 7...

Hey Mag 7...

Hi Lisa -- so good to hear from you. How's my little Hannah? Still cheering her heart out, I'll betcha.

New Braunfels, huh? A favorite town of mine in Texas!:D You'll all have a great time. Check out Gruene Hall -- oldest dancehall in Texas!

Durnnit Granbonny! Guess there goes my new computer since Hankypoo fixed me up and I can post again. Might just have to go back to the 'original' ShezaGirlie avatar....wicked woman, she is...!

'Mag 7' shall rise again in Texas if Hankypoo gets his way...hehehe! Think I oughta dig up one of those old photos and post it?

Hankypoo?!!

Hankypoo?!!

  :D :D

Now come on, Janie........ the 'mag seven' needs a change of scenery...... Colorado is the place we oughta be!!

Hey Janie!

Hannah's not so little anymore. Actually, she's only 4'10" and weighs about 78, so she is pretty little, but she's growing up. She'll be in 7th grade this year. She's in all GT classes and made 4 100's, 2 99's and a 98 on her report card. She's also playing the flute in band and made the Honor Band for next year. Yes, I'm still a Texas Cheerleader Mom. Her team won two different national championships this year - one in Texas and one in Georgia. Nicholas, my child y'all didn't meet will be in 5th grade and keeps us busy with baseball. He wants to add basketball this year - we'll see! He's also USUALLY a straight A student when he can keep his mouth closed long enough to pay attention!

We do need to get back to Texas soon. Preferably when it's not raining and cold!

How's about Austin? I hear nothing but great comments about the area. Beautiful lakes, rolling hills.

Maybe we could find a few real nice lake cabins and have our chats by the fire:D

I think we should use the old hat trick in Chicago. Throw in our suggestions. Hank should choose three locations. Most votes win. So we do not have a conflict with dates again. Keeping it as is. October yearly!

Hi Hensylee-

I believe they are Bob Gleason and Dick V. The newbies would probably like to know what the magnificent seven means. It would be a nice history lesson for how the site got started.

Wonderful things start with very modest steps.

How about one of you mag 7 guys 'splaining' the phrase?

Well we started off as the Nasty 5 which is a long story but we changed our ways (some) and added two more in San Antonio (Hank and Lisa I believe) and were the N7 but someone changed it to the Mag-7 to promote a cleaner image I think.

Of the original Nasty 5, THREE were women and Bob and I were clearly added by mistake, sort of like guilt by association)

Right girls??

Also Martha was on the board much back then both before and after her surgery so some of the initial early board members that I can remember were Bob Franklin, Martha, Bob Gleason, Hank, Lisa (from Katy), Gina Rain ,Janie and Christina Bob's friend). I am sure there were others but I am a pumphead and can't remember.

Hey Girlfriend,

We have a few ?beautiful lakes and rolling hills? here in CO!! :p lol Heck, we even have a couple cabins with in-door plumbing! :D Our mountains, lakes and rivers are absolutely beautiful. Ya all just gotta come ride the Durango/Silverton train through the mountains sometime. And visit Mesa Verde National Park too! There are a million things to do here.

I agree about the votes.... although I was really planning on making Hank keep his promise to me to have the reunion in CO next year. :( It would be less stressful for Hank and everyone would know their vote counted.

Dick, you little pumphead.....:p it was Lisa (in Katy) and Billy we added later. Hank was the poor soul who tried to keep us in line. :p The creation of the N5 should probably remain a mystery to those who don?t remember it. lol

GUILT BY ASSOCIATION?!! Did you say that with a straight face?!! :p :D
