Lunar Eclipse tonight

Look outside now to the east and the moon is full and very bright. Just gorgeous!
But about 2 hours from now it will start to be eclipsed by the sun and earth, the moon will be further south by then and will change colours.
10:00 pm EST onward should have a good show of colour from the shadow (hopefully).

I just saw the lunar eclipse--it was great! Beautiful clear night in NE Ohio--for a change!

Did anyone take any photos? The eclipse is going on right now here but unfortunately we can't see it because it's very overcast!

some of the world's best views, according to the local newscast, were here in the Pacific Northwest and we actually had a clear night! It was spectacular! The next lunar eclipse will be in 2010.

we both "bundled up" (Canadian for putting on MANY layers of clothes, hats, scarves, gloves etc.) and went out onto the fron lawn about 10pm or so and watched it for a while, it was cool.

Sorry, no photos, our digital is just not up to it, but found this one on the internet.

It was a good night to be living on a farm without any interference from outdoor lights.
I had a good view out of my office window and checked every 30 minutes during the evening.
There was a nice peach colour which turned into more of rich rusty tone as the eclipse progressed.
When I woke up at 4 a.m. the moon was a bright shining spotlight in my western window.
All in all a great show.....and it was free!
