I have been having very low blood pressures upon checking myself daily, they have been as low as 80/60 and I feel so fatigued and short of breath. I go see my cardiologist next Tuesday and then to Duke for evaluation of mitral valve replacement. When I go see the doctor,my blood pressure is always higher around 100/80 and he acts like he doesnt believe me when I tell him how low my BP have been. My pulse ranges anywhwere from 40s-100's. Strange? I would love your input on this matter. Alicia:rolleyes:

Hi Alicia-

The next time you go to the doctor, go an extra half hour early and use that extra time to sit and read or meditate while you wait in the waiting room. That way, your blood pressure will have some time to go down after rushing around and walking from the parking lot, etc. It's important that he takes a look at that issue. It's a really low blood pressure, and if your pulse is in the 40's too long, you could feel faint.

If you have "white coat" syndrome, then maybe you could ask the doc if one of the friendly nurses could take your blood pressure.

Your doctor, of course, will advise you if it's an abnormal situation.

Good luck.

hi alicia, i agree with nancy.. pursue this with your doctor.. while my low BP is not as low as yours', mine does drop now and then due to my meds.. along with my heart rate.. which at times will drop to the high 50's ... if your doctor continues to not take you seriously with regards to this than i might want to find another doctor..
