My carpel tunnel surgery scheduled for last month got postponed. It's now on for 12-14.

I'm to stop taking wafarin and begin lovonox injections tomorrow. Two a day F-SU, then none Monday morning but continued again Monday night and to continue through Friday 2 times a day. I was also told to re-start my wafarin on Monday night.

Anyone have experience with lovonox and this kind of medicating?

It sounds pretty standard for someone without a home monitor. If you know about what time your surgery is then I would not take a lovenox injection closer than 12 hours prior to surgery. When I'm on lovenox my instructions to start and stop are based on my INR on my home monitor. Still, be aware that you may experience more bruising than you might otherwise expect.

I hope your surgery is successful and your recovery smooth.

I honestly don't see a reason to come off Coumadin for carpal tunnel surgery, but since you are, do as Betty said and stop the Lovenox maybe a little before 12 hours before surgery. After surgery, when bleeding, if any, is controlled, you'll start your Coumadin up again at the regular dose you normally take and your first post op Lovenox injection. Continue the Lovenox every 12 hours until your INR is above 2.0.
