Oh Joy -

About an hour after my Lovenox injections (noon and midnight) I get a strange 'sensation' at / around the top of my head. Even some facial sensations (pressure / tightness)...

Has anyone else experienced such a reaction?
Could this be some sort of allergic reaction?
Or worse, could this be a subdural bleed?

Living with coumadin has been relatively straight forward (with a couple of notable bruises and one huge hematoma) but going OFF Coumadin is no joy ride!

Ive many lovenox injections, and I do not recall those sensations... just a lleh of a bruise... , I would mention this to someone....

Boy, that sure sounds like an allergic reaction. Have you tried an antihistamine to see if it affects it? It'd be a quick answer . . .

Al, I hope you call the doc and ask about this sensation, and I hope it is something easy to figure out. Let us know, and good luck.

Gets my vote Geogia. :D

I'm told that a subdural bleed equates to the worst headache you've ever had so that's out (thank goodness!)

I did mow (dry grass / weeds that had gone to seed plus fallen leaves) Monday so maybe I just kicked up too many allergens.

Bottom Line: NO reaction to the last Lovenox shot.

I sure wish someone would come up with a better "Prep" for Colonoscopy ! How about a gallon of Ice Cream followed by a quart of water. :) I think that would work for me and it would be a LOT more palatable...:D

Wednesday (afternoon) is the Big Day. Fingers crossed.

I didn't experience anything like that when I was on lovenox either. Think you ought to call your doc.

I agree that the prep is the worst part. I like that ice cream idea!

Al, I'm also wondering if it might have been a strange, ill-timed adrenaline rush. Your description kind of sounds like the rush feeling I would get at the beginning of a panic attack.

At any rate - glad you didn't have the issue with the 2nd shot.

So your C-scope is this afternoon? Perhaps you will read this on the downside of the procedure. Best wishes.

As for the ice cream prep, someone (Al Lodwick?) posted that milk is considered "clear liquids", so wouldn't ice cream? :D

Also, good luck with the other side of the L-bridge and results of the scope..

I checked my drug guides and this is not listed as a common side effect. Better talk to the doc about it!!

Milk is not a clear liquid. It is in full liquid diets. Jello is a clear liquid.
