Alright I'm not really sure where to post this, but I had a question. Last week, when I was sleeping I woke up and felt like my heart was beating really hard. Like I almost felt that I was moving with my heart beats...I thought maybe I was just freaking out because my surgery is coming up in a few weeks....but last night the same thing happened again. I was sleep on my left side and when I woke up out of a deep sleep. It felt like my heart was beating incredibly hard. Has anyone had this experience or have any idea what this could mean

Mama2Rylan I am not sure what you mean by "my heart was beating incredibly hard". Beating fast or you could feel it beating like your whole chest was moving. When I had endocarditis I could feel both. After I had the endocarditis treated and was waiting for surgery (AVR) I was aware especially when I first went to bed that may heart was beating hard. (My whole chest was moving). I actually went into severe heart failure the week before surgery.
Fortunately now I am back to normal.

I also felt this prior to surgery - I had congestive heart failure; once they got the fluid out of my lungs I didn't feel it anymore (of course, at the same time they put me on a beta blocker, an ACE inhibitor and digoxin, so the meds might have "fixed" the problem). I think you need to call your cardio and get checked.
