Hi to all.. I normally would not post a local event on a forum which reaches internationally - but one never knows what kind of networking is out there - thus opportunities... i'm a active member of our local chapter for Soroptimist International of Pottstown. (www.soroptimist.org). We are a service organization comprised of professional women giving back to the community to better the lives of women and girls. We mainly focus on domestic abuse issues, however we have other events which we support thru scholarships and awards, young women who give of themselves and head of household women who chose to go back to school. We also have a project which i'm personally involved with.. SSW (Soroptimist Supporting Women) it's a 6 month project where we financially assist 3 low-income, head of household women plus offer them mentoring and just plain emotional support.
Our projects are solely funded by our fundraising.. we have one big fundraiser a year.. our annual golf outing - this will be our 3rd. it's in September. we have "hole in one" prizes, door prizes, silent auction, cocktail hour, along with dinner. it's always been a great event. Last year we netted around $9K to help finance our projects. This year, i'm on the Golf Committee. For the past few months and leading up to the golf outing in September, i've been gathering donations both financially and as auction and goodie bag items.
This thread is not about asking for personal donations, rather throwing my cause out there to see if there are any members who may work for a nationally recognized company who may have some items to donate for our goodie bags and or silent auction (auction items needs to be worth at least $100) .. i'm looking to fill 125 goodie bags. Or if that company may be interested in participating in another way thru our different levels of sponsorships..
I have a PDF file which is our mailer (our mailer is in color and the "brochure" on pgs 3 & 4 are actually a two sided tri-fold) - but my scanner only scans in b/w and so this is what i've been using for my email requests. I was unable to attach to this thread, but if anyone is interested, I can email it.
