Ok everybody its me Vanessa , Clydes wife . Its been almost 3 wks Friday and over all he has been ok. He had 2 days of having a hard time breathing but got thru it . He said it wasnt to bad , now he is having alot of light headed feelings I will be calling his cardio tamarrow but in the mean time I was wondering if anyone else has had these problems going thru recovery ?

Yes, I had problems with SOB for at least a month after surgery, and it's not something to ignore. If I remember correctly, didn't he have some similar problems with breathing in the hospital? Yes, call cardio first thing in the morning, or if he's having a hard time tonight, take him to the ER. Having "a hard time breathing" is not something to ignore or "get through."

Is he light-headed sitting, or does it happen when he gets up from either sitting or lying down? Call cardio first thing in the morning and let us know what he says.

I had dizzy spells when I would stand up for the first five weeks. Mostly these are worse when I was in afib. They often got so bad that I would have to grab something to hold onto when I got up. This has gotten better as my BP has gone up.

I agree that shortness of breath at the very least deserves a phone call
