Hi! I was just wondering if any of you members live in Lexington, Ky. or in the general proximity. Have any of you had heart surgery in Lexington? If so who was your surgeon? It would be nice to have a "heart to heart" and compare notes about related health issues. Just thought it would be nice to talk to someone who has been through the same thing I have. I live in Frankfort, just up the road from Lexington. I am not a candidate for surgery yet, and hopefully never. While I do have a biscuspid aortic valve, it is functioning well. I have an appointment tomorrow with my cardiologist about a follow up echo checking out mitral regurgitation. Hopefully that will be a good report. Nice to "meet" you and best wishes.

What do you consider the general proximity? When I had my surgery my nephew had just finished medical school there in Lexington. He seriously questioned my choice of hospitals and offered to get me a referral there in Lexington until I informed him of my hospital's being one of the top 5 nation- wide for open heart. I think it surprised him but my husband said he was very impressed with my surgeon and the care I received when he drove down to check it out. I had my surgery at Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN. Would that be considered general proximity enough? I could get in touch with my nephew and ask about CT surgeons in Lexington or his fiance who is still there. (also med school) What is your specific diagnosis?
