I just talked to the cardio nurse regarding the echo yesterday. I have gotten progressively worse (like I didn't know that!) since the last echo in November. I go in the morning for pre-op blood work-up, then next Friday I am to have an angiogram. I have to stop the baby aspirin because during the last angiogram they had a hard time getting the bleeding stoped. I ended up spending the night in the hospital. Bummer! ! Then meet with the cardio, then surgeon, then everything sent to insurance for their coverage and proceed with the surgery, probably sometime the first of June. It's a relief that I finally got the ball rolling, now the waiting part.

Hi Glenda

Hi Glenda

Bless your sweet little heart. with all that you have gone thru..Breast and Kidney Cancer Survivor..I know that God will bring you thru this too.. :) :) Pain in the hinny..all those tests..but you look like you will handle all that..from that SWEET SMILE on your face. If , anyone, it will be you that we, here, at VR. will bring you thru Pro-Op and after...And if you to be in hospital, June 10th OUR birthday..Will send you a big vase of flowers. :) :) :) Maybe I'll start saying.I was born in 1943 and we will be TWINS. :D Love, Bonnie

Glenda,

Just remember that once the ball starts rolling, it takes some kicking to keep it going uphill to the top of the mountain - after that, it's easy sailing down hill. Take it easy and follow the doctor's instructions while you're waiting for surgery. We're all right here along side you.

Hang in there!

Hang in there!

Hi Glenda, I see you're the positive sort of person and I'm sure that you too will sail through this. I know you must be feeling a mixture of relief and fear now that you know more or less the date but it's only natural. Have faith in God and let him take care of you and he'll see to it that you're all right!

You will feel so good when you finally have a date for the surgery. Then you can start planning. The wait is the hardest part but we will all wait with you!

Heather

So glad you are able to see the light at the end of this tunnel. Keep us posted.

Hello,

I just wanted to let you know that I am praying for you. So glad to hear that things are moving along. Keep us posted and May God Bless You!!

Hi Glenda,

I'm making my rounds again before taking off for a couple days (I'm busier at 5 weeks post-op than I was before the surgery :) ). I just wanted to let you know that I'm thinking of you and I'm happy that things are moving forward. The quicker the better is my motto (i.e. less time to think about it  ).

I hope you and everyone else have a great weekend and I'll catch up with ya'll when I get back to Nashville.

Thanks everyone for your prayers and good wishes. :) :) :) I just got back from all the blood work-up. I swear when my veins see a needle coming at them they roll and go hide. I'm such hard stick. I can't tell you how many times a nurse will just give up (after three or four tries) and go get another nurse. :( I usually don't tell them about my veins because if I do it seems to make them rather nervous. Now I've got a huge bruice, I have a feeling that I'm going to be black and blue before this is all over. The nurse did tell me that they may be testing me every week until the surgery because of my leukemia and diabetes. She couldn't tell me why, she just said that sometimes the cardio will order this. Has anyone heard about them doing this and why?

One more step, and one more thing that will be behind you.

You're a strong and brave soul, and have inspired many around you. May you harvest some of the goodness you have sown with this surgery.

Very best wishes,

Hi Glenda

Hi Glenda

Hopefully, you will not have vein sticks every week...but if Cardio wants them. he must have a reason. Get the best nurse for sticking. :) :) :) My Grandson has a project due Monday morning on Missouri.. :D :D May be P.M. you all weekend with questions :D :D :D Guess, he drew your State. :p On the way home after picking him up from school to spend weekend with us (Will see Lance Armstrong come by our Mountain Town tomorrow) We told him the nickname was the Sooner State. Were we right? :D :D Take care. We love ya. Bonnie

Bonnie

Bonnie it sounds like you have a really sharp grandson. Wow! :) :) I'm glad you found everything you needed to know about Missouri. I've lived here all my life, and yes we are the "show me" state. There are so many jokes on us here in the Ozarks. A couple of the cutest that I can remember is:

The young Ozark Hillbilly came running into the store and said to his buddy, "Bubba, somebody just stole your pickup truck from the parking lot!" Bubba replied, "Did you see who it was?" The young Hillbilly answered, "I couldn't tell, but I got the license number." Ha! Ha! :D :D

Another one is: A Missouri State trooper pulled over a pickup on I-44 (which runs right in front of our farm.) The trooper asked, "God an ID?" the driver replied, "Bout whut?" :p

A "friend" of mine had sent me these here jokes. You can ritely tell he hain't been thar or he'd know'd we'uns are smarter then thet. :D :D :D

Bonnie...our daughter learned all of the "technical terms" and body parts..minus the reproductive system this year. She can tell us in detail how the heart/digestive track works, etc. Second grade.

IL is one of the states that works far above national average. They have the children working on 1st tri- 4th grade material at the end of second grade. Already starting geometry! I think it is overkill at times.....but you know...most of them are fully capable of handling it. She was behind last year coming back north from Memphis. With a little persistance......she pulled out of it quickly and is at the top of her class. :) Proud Mama :D
