Honestly, I though I would be in the waiting room forever and was quite surprised I was put on a fast track.I saw my dentist today for my cleaning and got my clearance from him. I am feeling much better about all of this. I am starting to sleep better, I found that listening to my portable CD player when I get into bed keeps my mind from wandering as much. I guess I am just accepting the fact of what has to be done.

Hey Kathy,
That month will fly by. It sounds like you have found somethings to keep your mine off of it. I hope you continue to be positive.
Like many of us that have been there and done that, you will find that the waiting is the worst part.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Take Care

Kathy,

Looking back from 12 days post-op, the month before surgery is just a blur to me now. Take some quiet time for yourself and alone with your husband.
Don't dwell on the surgery, because it's out of your control and in the hands of the professionals. Read the post-surgery threads here and be aware of what to expect.
Post once in a while with a little count-down for us...

and good luck!

I don't know why, but we are all control freaks. If we can't control it, we fear it. We need to get over that somehow. ;)

Amen, Ross - It is the fear of the unknown that becomes that "over-exaggeration" the shrinks warn us about. Knowledge is power, BUT the desire for control can lead us down dangerously slick slopes.

I'm working my way toward acceptance, but I know there will be another bout of the unknown to deal with when I approach a "real date."
