I am here in the hotel near the hospital. I have about 11 hours until I have to be at the hospital. I'm getting pretty excited.

Best of luck. Before you know it you'll be awake and out of surgery and wondering wtf just happened. Haha...

I'll keep you in my prayers.....my turn is coming up in 3 weeks

I walked your path 9 weeks ago. I remember the night before in the hotel quite well! Morning will come soon enough and you will be on your way. Wishing you a swift journey and smooth recovery.

Well, I'm still in the hospital and it pretty well suck so far. They said I am in complete heart block, so the pacemaker team should be seeing me today. I also have to receive a unit of blood at some point. On the bright side, I am getting around much better. Still don't have much of an appetite, though.

Bummer. I guess your heart got mad and fought back, but they will fix you up nicely with a pacer.
The appetite does lag for a while and certain things taste weird but it is a good idea to try to eat foods with fibre and nutrients to
get stronger. My hubby brought me honey bran muffins and egg salad sandwiches ; my 2 cravings ;)

Well, I am feeling 20 times better at the moment. Of all things that could bring back my appetite, it was strawberries and orange Gatorade. Also, thanks to everyone for the well wishes and such. I'm sorry if I came off crabby, I must admit, I was a bit crabby earlier today. I know that most everyone here has gone/will go through what I have and much more. So again, thanks for the words of kindess, wisdom and insight.

"strawberries and Gatorade" ? That is funny, but at least it did the trick for you !!

I have a pacer too, they should monitor you for a few days to see if you get your own rhythm back. Glad you are doing well!

You are doing just fine. I'm a year post op and I remember the first day out of surgery. Couldn't hold down food the first day. I also was having some mental problems, couldn't sleep feeling like I was going to lose my mind or out of touch with reality... Ya real fun. After 5 days in the hospital they concluded I needed a pacemaker as well. I finally left 8 days later, the first week at home was a little rough too... Crap the first month for that matter. You are doing great, think positive and look at the bright side of everything, do your walks and sits like the nurses tell you. Day at a time, minute at a time, second at a time.

Well, I will be gettiing my pacemaker tomorrow. At first I was kind of mad about it, then I was kind of meh about it, but now I am ready to get the thing in and get on home. I can walk for about 6 minutes at a standard pace without having any trouble. If I go any longer, though, I will get some lightheadedness, due to my heart not really increasing it's pace. It's stuck at about 70 no matter what I am doing. Looking at a Tuesday or Wednesday release. Assuming they get my pace settings, and coumadin levels working right.

Best wishes for perfect pacing :)

Here is hoping that your doctors are able to get your pacemaker pacing you correctly quickly and that you are able to get outta that hospital soon. Things will sure begin to get better then. I will keep you in my prayers. Best wishes :)
