Sup, my peeps? LDH, or lactate dehydrogenase, is a measure of tissue breakdown. It tends to go up when blood cells crash into the mechanical valve. This is quite different to ldl, which is a type of cholesterol.
My LDH is 363. Was wondering if others know what their's is, so I have some sort of reference point. Last time I got it checked it was 316. I'm told it's normal for it to go up, post AVR, more so with mechanical valves. Higher still with paravalvular leaks. Insights?
