Hi,

Not been on here for a while............still problems on and off and the tamiflu didn't help !!! Doctor told me there would be no reaction with the warfarin........wrong. now back to weekly blood tests.

Oh well life goes on.

However i need some advice i have been having chest pains and tiredness on and off since my operation. (aortic valve replacement) and now have a mecanical valve. I went to a & e yesterday and had an ecg, this has come back with LBBB. Can someone tell me if this is normal when i have a mechanical valve? My last ecg was the same however because i haven't felt great since the op could it be connected.

Any thoughts / opinions would be greatly received.

Thanks

Ruth

Ruth I assume LBBB to be Left Bundle Branch Block? If so, it's because of surgery, but not because of the valve. Could be something that would have happened eventually, but got sped up by surgery.

Ruth, I have a RBBB and have had it my whole life. It has to do with how the electrical impluses flow through your heart. Ross is right, it could have been caused by surgery or just caused by the effects of having a bad aortic valve and what those effects on your heart were.

I have lived with mine for 46 years and haven't had to do anything about it. I think some people may have to get a pacemaker for it. Check with your cardio.
