Had been looking into the Lasik procedure for my horrible vision, had an appt. scheduled, then was put in for a pacer/defib. NOW I read that I can't have the Lasik done because of the pacer....... What timing!!

Anyone have any knowledge about this, or experience?? What a let down, was thinking of no spec's after 40 years!!

Hi Mindy, no I haven't heard of that before, but I've never actually looked for disqualifications to the procedure either. Time for me to learn something new. I'm just sorry to hear that one of your dreams may not be a possibility. :(

Hope you weren't looking at the 299 an eye special, they are done in a trailer in no man's land. Sorry if you were going to a better place for the procedure. Having heart problems has its own rules. Keep hanging in there, I have diabetes and it comes with the eye complications. Had to have my eyes exmained twice within 8 months. Hard life and have three different pairs of glasses. Go figure. Take care and hang in there. Things will be fine. Be patient and try not to stress over the hard knocks in life.

On one of the Lasik sites, it listed having a pacemaker as a no no. I called Guidant, my Pacemaker manufacturer and they concurred!!! Bummer. There are worse things, it was a bit of an indulgence anyway......

So now it's Lasik as well Botox injections. Can't have those either if you are on Coumadin.
