Has anyone on this board had personal experiences or knowledge of the Cleveland Clinic--urology?

Small procedure complicated by warfarin requires a 10 month wait in Toronto so I'm looking stateside for a solution.

HI, I husband had his first surgery at the Cleveland Clinic. It is regarded as one of the best. He was only 16 when he had his surgery and that was 22 years ago. He most recently had surgery at the Toledo Hospital in Toledo, Ohio. His surgeon, Dr. Michael Morrant, is highly regarded. He is considered to be one of the best in this country if not the world. He frequently travels to Europe to instruct other surgeons.

My husband is twoboysdad on here if you would like to PM or email him. He can give you more information on his surgeries.

Thanks Michelle.

That's what I'm looking forward to hearing.

Next April is a long time to wait and I thought if I could afford to I would go to one of the border states and have the surgery done there. A lot of Canadians are doing just that and there are many ads in the daily papers offering services to us.

The two hospitals that came to mind are: Cleveland Clinic and the Mayo Clinic.

Thanks for the input. Much appreciated

Lance, they are my choice- check it out

I had a check up there in July of '04 after my HVR surgery and we were treated by a friend at CC's 5 star restaurant. My wife and I were half way through the meal, when in walked Bob Dole- former Senator from Kansas,
WW II hero, Senate leader and '96 presidential canidate. He did ads. for
ED drugs. I think it is fair to guess what he was there for. He could go anywhere and he chose there. That has to tell you something. Meeting Bob Dole,
PRICELESS- the food, overrated.

I can't speak for urology (I was in pediatric cardiology, and PICU for my two month stay) but I can say in general terms that the Cleveland Clinic is PHENOMINAL...

It's a major complex that sees a LOT of patients from outside of the greater Cleveland area and has a lot of resources for out-of-town visitors including shuttle services to and from the airport and hotel facilities that serve the hospital.

Most of it is on their website, worth taking a look at.
