29mm St Jude Mitral. 6mg warfarin/day and stable. No "C" prob to speak of in 2 years since OHS.

I've got a 8x5mm stone a few inches down the uretor 6 weeks after first symtoms. Urologist is no ACT pro and said 7 days in hospital to ween me off to heperin and back. They have to shoot thru the kidney.

This sounds far too long. I hate the hospital and loath the food.
What is the good choice. Cant I get someone to stick me and cut stay to 2 days.

At least he didn't tell you to just stop coumadin 5 days prior and not do anything else.;) :D

I would talk to your cardio about using Lovenox and, if your cardio thinks that will work, have him call your urologist and discuss the "how-to".

Some cardios prefer the hospital heparin routine but I would let your cardio make the call. Also, check with your insurance because they may not approve an extended hospital stay for the IV heparin.

While I can't give you any tips on your anticoagulation, as I haven't had any OHS as of yet, I can at least let you know that I have the same kidney stone issues as your having right now, and I just wanted to say that I know what your going through and I hope your not in too much pain......I know it's HORRIBLE...Take Care, Harrybaby:eek:
