Some of you may remember my little stint I had this past July and going to the ER after getting dizzy in a store followed by a minor headache then experiencing a numbness sensation on the left side of my face.

The Doctor in the ER ordered a test to check my arteries in my neck (I did get a CT scan of my head while in the ER - which was normal).

Just received a call from our Heart & Stroke Clinic to see a Neurologist tomorrow morning, and only after seeing this guy will he order this ultra sound of my neck.

Question is: I've been feeling just fine, no re-occurrence of what happen in July. I'm listed as a "1" on a scale of 10; 10 being urgent. Do I keep this appointment when there are others who are in more need than myself?

keep the appointment. just in case.

if someone else is urgent, you'll get bumped.
if they're not urgent, most likely too late for them to schedule.

I was afraid you were all going to say that. :)

So off I go in the morning - better not catch any virus, being in the hospital and all.
Wish me luck.
P.S.
I'll be wearing a mask - can't get no shot of any kind until Monday.

Please let us know what the neurologist says. Brian goes to see one next week because he has been having bad headaches so I am curious what your neurologist will say. Brian will also be getting a carotid ultrasound while at CC.

Deanne, I've been feeling fine with no headaches. For me this could be all of a waste of time.........but rather be safe than sorry.

Chances are is that after the neurologist looks at me, he'll schedule some tests and I'll have to wait 6 to 8 weeks for an appointment to have these tests done.
That's how it works up here in Canada.

Well......6 hours later and much to my surprise, everything that needed to be done got done today and then some plus getting results.
An A to Z total blood work was done. Good and Bad Cholesterol - below normal. Potassium levels and Magnesium - normal/good, INR - 2.3 probably due to the V8 I had last night, but the neurologist figured it was from all the Sanitized hand cleaner - man that stuff was everywhere .
As for the ultra sound of the neck (A Carotid Doppler Ultrasound Scan), "best looking results/neck I've seen in a long time" was the neurologist words, therefore not seeing a any kind of problem.

Not much more I can say, except it was a very long day.

Deanne, sure do hope you day will go faster than mine. Lots of waiting. Oh maybe bring some rubber gloves if you don't like using the Sanitized Hand cleaner. The stuff at the hospital had a VERY strong alcohol base, pewww ;)
