Katie's PC appointment is Thursday..........

UGH! I really hate this knot in the pit of my stomach.................. As usual I have piddled around too long to get on any prayer lists - actually, I have just been living in denial, but, regardless of whether I turn the pages on my desk calendar or not, Katie's PC appointment is this Thursday. We are going to see if we can postpone her valve replacement for one more month or two - still trying to make that one year anniversary mark from last April's failed valve repair, if possible.

So please think good thoughts for us and pray that Katie's AV valve leak has
not gotten worse, and that her ventricles are not showing signs of
weakening - heck, while you are at it, pray for that damn valve to just
start cooperating and stop leaking altogether. Then we would only have
to worry about the fontan and not a valve replacement and fontan, too.

Hi Janet, I'll be sending lots of positive thoughts to you and Katie. It's probably much harder for you than it is for Katie, but kids are tough and it will make her a stronger grown-up. Having been there and done that as a kid (..although I somehow missed out on the T-shirt..) I'm sure she too will come through with flying colours.

As a congenital heart patient with lots of experiences as a child -- trust that Katie does not know that her reality is any different than any other child.
