Hi Guys and Gals,

I just wanted to post and let yall know that I am up at my parents house and went to see my grandmother after her stroke and she is doing surprisingly well...there is some damage to her speech and to the part of the brain that controls the personality, however, she can still move her arms, and legs and move around with assistance from the nurse and a walker (I think that this may be due to the fact that the stroke really weakened her at first), and she recognizes who everyone is and knows where she is at and why she is there.

They classified her as having a major stroke, and they have said that she will need rehabilitation, but it looks as though she is out of any imminent danger.

I will post as I know more, and again, I thank you for all your prayers. Harrybaby:) :) :D :) :)

I am home from my parents....

I am home from my parents....

Hi Gang,
Just wanted to let yall know that I got home this afternoon from my parents and visiting with my grandmother...they will be moving her to a nursing home in Dover Foxcroft, Me. on Monday for physical therapy, of which she will need, but thankfully, the stroke didn't damage her movement in any significant way. I saw her for an hour before I left to come home (a 4 hour drive), and she and I talked as if she never had the stroke, although the doctors have said that the stroke did do damage to her speech and personality parts of the brain. Thank You all again for your prayers and encouraging words....they have really helped my gramma and my family get through this.

Aussiegal,
My dad did not have to have bypass surgery as they fortunately found no blockages, but they did say that his heart is VERY VERY weak from his Congestive Heart Failure/Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, so he does have to take it really easy, and he has been taking care of himself the best that he can under these horrible circumstances. I am going to try and go fishing with him this summer and do as much as our heart and heart/lung conditions will allow us. Thank You for asking, and please know that your caring words really help me through this mess. Take Care, Harrybaby:D :D :D :D
