Hello to everyone, I just got home from seeing the Cardio., and told him how dissappointed I was when I saw the primary Dr. I told him about my problems with the beta-blocker. He wants me off of it as soon as possible. Also going to take another echo. and some blood work. Because of me being so tired and no energy. All the dizzy spells and lighthead has him concerned. So I have another appt. in 2 weeks for follow up. He did say I can drive short distances for now, no freeway driving at all. So things are looking up. Will keep you all informed. Bless all of you who helped me all the time. Syl

hi syl! (nice name!)
so sorry to hear about your dizzy spells, etc. i do hope they find that it was just the meds.
please let us know how that check up goes with the doc and how the echo goes too.
good luck and God bless,
sylvia

Well after my experience with beta blockers (Coreg) landed me in the hospital with a suspected mini-stroke, I certainly hope to avoid them in the future. Once I got off the Coreg, all my neurological symptoms - blurred vision, ocular migraines, dizziness (the room always felt like it was spinning) - all went away.

I'm sorry you are going through this frightening and frustrating period Sylvia. I really do think it probably is a drug side effect. Hopefully they can find something else to regulate your heart rate that won't give you the side effects.

I think everyone is different in their response to drugs and their physical chemistry and while one person may do fine with a particular drug, it may just not be good for another. Like anything else, there is never "one size fits all."

Hope this all gets resolved for you soon so you are "comfortable" in your body again.

Jennifer

Beta-blockers

Hi Jennifer, Just read your post. It's always good to hear another person express their own experences with drugs. I'am now down to half a pill a day. Some of the side affects have gone, but not completly. Will let you know the outcome of my Cardio appt this thursday, which will include a Echo. Hope all goes well. He just wants to make sure the things that I'am having is truly from the drug. Bye Syl:(
