Our local hospital, Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY, just opened a GORGEOUS 36 bed Critical Care Unit. It is an entirely new wing of the hospital. Everything is state of the art, computers for the staff in every room, huge, airy and very pretty rooms, flat panel TVs, lovely layout with all kinds of sitting areas for family and meeting rooms for staff, lovely furniture and color scheme. Heart surgery patients will go there after surgery, and of course any other critical care patient too.

Ellis Hospital has made great strides in the last several years. We are blessed with excellent cardiothoracic surgeons and excellent critical care staff. They had been working in a small, cramped, old and ugly environment. This is like the Taj Mahal!

We are very fortunate to have corporations and individuals in the community who contributed lots of money for this to happen.

Not such a small hometown little hospital anymore.

Aultman is doing something similar, only on a larger scale here. They will have an all new Cardiac surgery wing and rooms along with some other much needed stuff. The thing that bothers me though, is being strong armed over Lyn's surgical bill and then looking at the place. I can't help but think they took our livelihood away for more bling bling.
