My grandson has arrived! His name is Alex James and he was born last night around 9pm AZ time. He was 6lb. 14 oz. and 18.5 in long. Not bad for being 3 wks early.

They tell me he has lots of dark hair, I can't wait to see him! Unfortunately, he's in Scottsdale AZ, and I'm here in Minnesota. My son is supposed to be e-mailing me a pic soon,
and then I'll see if I can post it here.

Any of you "seasoned" grandparents out there have any advice for a rookie?
Thanks, Jean

Congratulations Grandmacat!

I do hope I'm not a Grand before I'm 50, but all my young ones are in range of making me that.

Grandma

Grandma

I became a grandma (I'm nana) for the first time in Aug. A beautiful baby girl named Leah Mae. It is the best thing that ever happened to me. The first time she smiled at me I knew I was doomed. All I know is that at that moment I would have given her anything she wanted. I told my husband that if she was older I would have given her a signed blank check. We're lucky to be only about 5 blocks from her and I have her at least one day a week. When my daughter-in-law goes back to work this spring I will prabably have her a few days a week. She's the best baby. Already she sleeps all night. I don't mind having her all night because I put her down around 8:00 and she'll sleep until 7:30 in the morning and she always, always wakes up with a smile on her face. If someone would have told me I would love her as much as I love my children I would have said they were nuts but like I said I'm doomed. What a Blessing. Congratulations!!!! Believe me it doesn't get any better than this. Hope you get to see hem soon Pegne
