This is it.. the month of June and this is it. It didnt seem so bad when it was still May.... but now it is June.

How do I keep focussed on my job... I have to work this next week yet and my mind is just not on the task. All the details are still out there...

It was hard to focus on work in the weeks preceding my surgery but I tried staying occupied with something just to keep busy. I even cleaned out old files just to keep busy. It didn't require a lot of brain power but it passed the time. Best wishes and good luck.

Just go with it....I think I just found myself on auto-pilot....doing what needed to be done and if I did not do it, it did not need to be done, by me anyway....Take it as it comes....we are here for you.

that didn't ever make it to my "to do list". I did a lot of planning for the recovery period. But the best advice is to go with the flow and relax. Enjoy everyday and anticipate how healthy you will feel after the surgery.

I wish I could give you some advice, but I had the same issue. To be honest, however, I had even MORE issue concentrating at home, so going to work was almost a godsend...

When I finally gave in to booking my surgery, I had 2 weeks of hanging around the house trying not to freak out.
I made pages of notes for hubby: pet care, phone numbers for neighbours, friends, veterinarians, etc.

Go with the flow... Making a list and checking it twice.... Concentrating on the post-op details.... hoping I wink at my SO when I first wake up... Get the deck chairs ready... Who's going to water the tomatos????

It deff is hard to focus on anything when facing heart surgery. I have just tried to keep telling myself that the risk for complications are extremely low, then put my mind on something else. Easier said than done i know.
