I read with sadness that June had passed away following surgery for heart valve.
She was 73 years of age.
She was seen by me as God's blessing to John , I'm sure his life would have been a downward spiral if it weren't for her.
I loved to listen to their duets. I could feel their bond to each other in their singing.
Its sad that beautiful times must end, but I hope to God, in His time, we will understand and rejoice in what is to be.

I heard on the way to work this morning and could just vividly remember June and Johnny singing Jackson together...I loved their interaction with each other and the crowd. Another beautiful voice added to the angels choir.

I knew someone who spotted the two of them at a hotel in California - he was screaming, cursing at her. Poor lady must've suffered terribly with him til he got straightened out. she has truly earned her special seat beyond these shores. Bless her.

I saw Johnny Cash on Larry King a few months ago. He looked extremely ill. But he had just released another album, I think.

I heard, too, that June Carter Cash had heart surgery about 7-8 days ago, developed complications, but they did not say what sort of heart surgery she had.

The radio tribute also said she wrote "Ring of Fire" for Johnny. I listened carefully to the words and she was apparently truly in love with him. He was lucky to have her, wasn't he.

June Carter was ....

June Carter was ....

one of my personal heroine's. I saw her and Johnny in a concert several years ago and they were terrific. She will be missed for sure. Does anyone know what the complications were? So far I haven't been able to find out. Another sad day for country music--so many of the originals are now gone.....Susan
