This is TOO sweet...

My mother called just a little while ago to tell me that she had just recieved a phone call from her co-worker's 3rd grade daughter. Apparently next week her elementary school will be doing Jump Rope for Heart. She had already talked to my mom about a donation, and of course my mom gave her one. This phone call was for a different reason. She said that the students were allowed to jump in honor of someone, and she wanted to "jump in honor of your daughter." But she needed to know my name.

I've never met this little girl, and I don't know what my mom has told her about me, but for a 3rd grader to want to jump in honor of me is very sweet. No one has ever jumped for me before. (I've jumped, but I don't think I did it in honor of myself ;) )

Niki,
That is great! What a wonderful thing that a child would ask to jump rope in your honor!

Makes you feel good, huh? My daughter has walked in Cancer Walks several times in my name.

My daugher jumps each year in my honor. Her school raised 4K for the cause this year. It's a wonderful way to get the kids involved.:)

We've got a place in north central Wisconsin that's about 30 miles from Bloomer, WI--Jump Rope Capital of the U.S.:)

My son did the Jump for Heart this year, too. He is in fourth grade. He did his in honor of Jeff. It think that is so cool. It gives the kids a reason to jump even harder. I am not sure how much money they raised, but I think it's a wonderful cause. Plus, it's great exercise for the kids.
