Had a 4.4 earthquake here in Southern California this morning at 4 AM, around the time the Hubster and I get up. We live near the epicenter. Any other So. Cal members feel it?

I hate earthquakes! :(

Guess I better move to Ohio? :p

A 4.4 is nothing and barely gets noticed in the news around here, (however, I have a skittish husband who lived near the epicenter of the Whittier earthquake in 1987, so he freaked out as he normally does). Also, with the recent earthquakes in Haiti and Chile, the media has been jumping all over this earthquake as if it were a lot worse.

Gotta love the news...

Looked on USGS site - apparently 16,797 people felt it enough to report the shaking! And it wasn't all that deep (as far as earthquakes go), so no wonder people noticed it.

It was interesting to find out how many of my students/colleagues did not feel the quake yesterday. Man, the thing jolted me out of bed!

The media reports that yesterday's shaker can be a precursor to a bigger quake. It always can, but the local media here, I feel, is blowing the whole thing out of proportion as if The Big One is right around the corner. Gotta love their scare tactics!

Oh no..............not Ohio. The cool thing about Ohio is you can have all 4 seasons in one day! Furnace and air on the same day!

You forgot to mention, since I know that she'd miss her beloved earthquakes, that we have them here too. Just not nearly as often.

Hey guess what? We had one on my hatchingday on the 25th and I didn't even know it!

Yep, I sure felt it. I didn't hear the dishes and glassware rattling in the cabinets, so didn't think it would be too bad. My bedroom is above my garage, so I said a quick prayer that I would not end up on top of my car and went back to sleep.
