OK, so I got a bit side-tracked with choosing a Christmas tree and wrapping presents and going out for our work party and stuff!
Last Friday, December 9th was Jim's valve's 2nd birthday . Looking back to two years ago, I can't believe how time's flown! Jim's doing all the things he did prior to his op, and we're planning to tackle Snowdon (tallest mountain in England & Wales) again next spring/summer when it's a nice sunny day and actually reach the top this time around!
Thanks to everybody's suggestions over on the Significant Others forum, I took Jim to a little B&B in the Cotswolds where we had a four-poster bed and a private pool and the biggest breakfasts ever! So we pigged out in the mornings, went shopping and exploring during the day, and back for a swim before going out for dinner at one of the nearby pubs. Aah, bliss . Oh, and I've bought a voucher for us to go climbing/abseiling at some point (liked the idea it reflecting the "ups and downs" of the past couple of years!) May actually swap it for white water rafting, but that's yet to be decided.
Just goes to show that valve replacement is a bump in the road, not the end of the road! And we got to meet all you guys here too which was a lovely bonus at a not so lovely time . So thank you all for being there day and night, for everybody who needs you for whatever reason. And I hope that I've also been able to help some people in the same way. And of course, thanks to Hank for providing a way for this great big worldwide family to communicate.
