... Haven't been around VR too much lately even as a lurker & now find FOUR pages of new posts! Way too many to catch up with at one time; will have to do it gradually.
What happened with Nancy's surgery? I guess that is the main question I have now until I have a chance to catch up properly.
I guess the main reason I haven't been around much is that nothing's really been going on with my heart. The main residual effect of the surgery, the high heart rate, seems to be receding. Most days it's in the 80's now, sometimes the 90's. Hasn't been over 100 (except when I'm exercising) in a long while. I'm supposed to have another echo in the next month or so (first since the surgery) and we'll see what that says. I'm still taking cozaar (an ARB, for blood pressure) and coreg (a beta blocker). I just got upped to 25 mg of coreg twice a day, about a week ago. That's my maximum target dose. I seem to be adjusting to it pretty well.
My husband is having his Total Knee Replacement Monday June 21 so that is my main concern now. He also (sometimes it doesn't rain, it pours) went to the dermatologist for some "spots" on his face, and was told he had actinic keratosis. He had to put something on his face (all over!) that literally peeled his skin off, until it was a raw red color like very rare roast beef and then it scabbed. Horrible-looking! And it was very painful, burning and itching. Now he's on the second phase, where he puts three different kinds of ointments on, and he looks less raw, but it still hurts. But his dermatologist is very pleased with the results and impressed with his determination.
