I got through the heart cath today - a piece of cake and I still feel pretty good after a full day at the hospital. The cath confirmed that the pressure gradient was at the critical point and that my right coronary needs a bypass. I met my surgeon, we talked about it, I told him I'm ready to GO, so we have scheduled surgery for 8:00 am this Wednesday. Sorry Steve, you'll be in the waiting room pretty much by yourself, but I do know you have some newbies in there too, so do your best to help them, and I'll be back soon to harass all of you. Daughter Jane has agreed to post some results as soon as known, and I look forward to getting back on line with all of you as soon as I can. By the way, I'll be in St. Mary's in Evansville, IN. So far, I'm extremely pleased with their staff. I actually had fun today, bantering with a lot of great health care pros, and they in turn had fun hasseling me. Thats how it's supposed to be. I'll be thinking about you guys and how much you made this whole process easier. Don't forget that roast possum Bonnie !!!!Chris

Well do you feel like they called your bluff or what? I felt pretty much the same as you right up until they gave me the date, then I had a really weird feeling inside.

You know better then anyone that all of us will be going through the OR doors with you, so be sure to look around the room before they put you out and notice all of our faces as you've come to know them.

I wish someone would post on your behalf. With the new HIPPA act, getting information from the hospital is almost non existent or impossible.

I'll be awaiting your return and will keep you in thought and prayer as you start your journey. Good Journey my friend. ;)

Hi Chris-

I want to wish you the very best surgical result possible. I know you will do just fine. You're ready to get the darn thing fixed.

So Bon Voyage and smooth sailing. We'll all be waiting to hear how you did.

Talk to you later, and God Bless.

I'm one of the one's you are leaving in the waiting room. My prayers will definitely be going up for you, your family and everyone providing you care. I hope you have very uneventful, successful surgery and are on line soon letting us know how your trip over the mountain went. Thanks for being an encourager to the rest of us still in the WR. God Bless, Betty

Grab your ropes and pitons!

Grab your ropes and pitons!

Only here would everyone consider this good news!!!

Congratulations, Chris. Life's too short to have this hanging over your head. It's so much better to get it over with, and I know you'll do so with style and grace. How could you not with so many people rooting for you?

We'll all be thinking of you and praying for you and cheering you on.

You mean we are there? Been travelin this road awhile now and ready for the step on the way up the mountain. We will be right there with you - til we meet again, God go with you an keep you safe. GODSPEED

Chris,
The very best to you.
With your positive attitude you should do just fine.

Best of luck Chris-- wishing you a speedy recovery. Now I just checked your profile and see you like to fish!! Maybe some time in the fall, when the tuna are running off the So. Cal. coast, you can join me and we`ll catch yellowfin, and albacore and bluefin and big eye and dorado and yellowtail and........???? My deal is May 16 (or 17th) so I`m thinking the fall might be the time!! Ya gotta keep dreaming!! Again best of luck, Bill

Hi Chris,
Getting the surgery over with is GREAT NEWS! I know that sounds weird, but you will be on your way to a much healthier life. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I will definately be thinking of you on Wednesday. Good Luck!

Take Care!
Gail

The hard part is over. Good luck with your surgery and God Bless.

You Know. . .

You Know. . .

You know, Chris, I sort of envy your situation. Yes, you've been in The Waiting Room from H*ll with the rest of us for a while, but once things began to roll, you didn't have to endure much dwell time. (Sorry for the"engineering" term.) I think of this in terms of it being better not to have much time to dwell on all the concerns that we've shared over the months. I think you have them under control now, and I'm happy for you.

I know you will have the best care possible, and that your team is hand picked by those you trust. Be safe, be well, and be sure to let us know how you do.

I'll keep the Waiting Room open for visitors. . .

Hi Chris,
Everything will go just fine for you. You have a good attitude and I think it actually helps when someone looks forward to the surgery. You have given me lots of encouragement along the way and I hope I can do the same for you. Good luck and Godspeed. Tim

Chris-
Want to wish you nothing but the best for Wednesday.
I have read many of your posts and you have uplifted
many people, mainly mine.
Good luck tomorrow and we will see you in a couple days.

Hi Chris...'bout time, huh?

Hi Chris...'bout time, huh?

Good to hear you're just about there. I know you're tired of all the waiting around. During that time you've been a big support to so many folks on the website, so now it's your turn. We'll all certainly be out there in the waiting room reading all those old fishing magazines and prayin' for you.

Do your daughter Jane and her husband live in Austin? It will be good to hear from her after your surgery. Cheers and take care....!
