Here's the particulars:

Date: Wednesday March 17, 2004 (as of right now the 1st case)

Where: Duke Medical Center

Surgeon: Dr. James Jaggers

Surgery: VSD repair and Ross Procedure

I'm having my cath done at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville on Wednesday March 3rd at 7:30AM (also 1st case). Dr. Douglas Waldo will be performing the cath, which I believe is right & left side.

Bill...commencing countdown! :D

It may be difficult to wear something green that day. And wear am I going to put my lucky 4 leaf clover?

;)

I was going to post to you on the other thread Tom when I got home from work to tell you that I didn't recognize you at first without the chin hair...lol!

Thanks for your continued support!

Hope they at least put you in a GREEN hospital gown when you're done!!!!! I'm sure it will be a "good luck" day for you!!!I remember very well when Tyce was given a date by the surgeon....It was a 2 week wait and I couldn't wait till it was over and he was ok.....I think it was because I was so worried about losing him from an attack or whatever.

You will be fine, my friend......who knows, maybe your New date will be a redheaded irishman!!!!

Bryan, so glad that you have a date set. I think that's half the battle. I know you will be so glad to get it over with. You are in my prayers.

Good Luck Bryan,
I will be following your progress, Best Wishes for an uneventful climb up the mountain. I will be having my surgery about 2 weeks after you.

Glad to hear you have your date. We will keep you in our prayers.

Bryan,
I'm so happy to hear you have a date for surgery. Once I knew exactly when mine would be, I never had another anxious moment-I hope your experience is the same. This is my 5th post op day and I just finished my 2nd of 4 ten minute walks for the day and have to say that I'm feeling pretty darn good. Sleeping well and really only experiencing some soreness and itchiness in the sternum area. I just want to stress to you that although there may be a few unpleasant segments to push through, this whole experience (so far, she said knocking on wood) has really been manageable. The hardest part is waiting to get my energy level back, being restricted due to weight load concerns, etc in engaging in a lot of everyday activities and not being able to drive for awhile. I'll keep you posted, but especially after returning home I think you'll find you'll handle this just fine. Sue

Bryan,
We will be thinking of you. Dr Jaggers is one of the best. He did Franks original Ross and will be also doing the repair/replace. We are going in on the 11 th and if all goes well hoping to be home by the time you come in. Best of luck.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. I feel like I've had to work so hard to get the date and get through all the red-tape (among other problems) that if I actually get to the surgery without anything else going wrong it will be a relief. My cath is Wednesday, and so far I'm not feeling any nerves at all so far. I guess when you have OHS scheduled two weeks later it puts the cath in it's proper perspective.

Thanks again everyone!

BTW, what's the current line on how many more meltdowns I'll have before the 17th?

:D

Good Luck

Bryan, hope your cath went well today. Guess you better get that corned beef and cabbage going a couple days before St. Paddys - and enjoy copious quantities of beer.

I'm so glad you've got your date and things are finally getting cracking for you.
