A relative of mine was recently ill and during her workup for some reason they did an INR test. She has never taken coumadin/warfarin. Her INR was 1.3. I would have thought it would be 1.0 or at most 1.1.

Have you heard of this before?
 
I am pretty sure this is still in the normal range,it shouldn't even affect
her coagulation,I don't think. I know that when I was in the hospital
and it took me forever to reach target,they didn't consider anything
under 1.8 to have any effect whatsoever.
 
Thanks. I somehow had the idea in my head that a non-coagulated person tested 1.0.

Nope. A person not on anticoagulants can be anywhere from .9 to 1.2 or like in this case, it was probably 1.26 or something to make it a 1.3.
