Golden retrievers are among the most gentle of creatures, but this shows they can be protective of their family when challenged. Nothing nearly this dramatic, but mine has stood her ground when she thought large, fiercer dogs were about to attack me.

God bless this guardian angel who took on a cougar and lived to be an inspiration!

This story was on our late night news last night. Apparently after they shot the cougar, the dog was motionless for a brief time as they approached, but finally rolled over, shook himself off and went right over to the boy. A very dramatic and emotion-filled story!!!
