Hi everyone, I apologize for not getting to you but my wife is not very good on this site and somehow lost the password.
Anyway, I got home yesterday, V-Day- around 4 pm. As you all can imagine I was very tired and weak after waiting over 4 hrs for the Dr. to come in and release me.
Everything was just about what everyone had said pre-op.
I had some type of heart flutters on my moniter for 3or 4 nites that made them concerned so I had to have another cath going
up a vein to check the electrical system friday morning.
The Doc said it was alright and would not have to put in a
defib. Just meds right now, so he released me.
I thank you all for your thoughts and prayers and now it is on
to recovery time.
Talk to you soon
Al

Al, welcome home. I can remember how good it felt. Baby yourself, breathe, breathe and walk, walk, walk. Good luck.

Al-

Great to hear that the surgery is all behind you. Sometimes there are little arrhythmias that happen after surgery. The vast majority of them do resolve as healing progresses. It's just your heart saying ouch.

Have a smooth and steady recovery and keep checking in.

Best wishes.

I was getting worried about you. I get worried when I don't hear anything from someone who's having surgery. Personal flaw I guess.

Yahoo! Your out and recovering. That is great news in itself. I know your not feeling like jumping for joy right now, so I'll do it for you.

You know we are all here to talk too if you feel the need to talk. Until then, walk, breath, rest! ;)

welcome home al. i glad to hear that your surgery was a success. relax, exercise and take things at a pace that you are comfortable with. good luck

Hi Al.....So glad everything went well. I can well remember bringing my husband home last June.....by the time we got home, all he wanted to do was take a nap, and he did!!!! The first shower, great!!! The first meal, NADA, no appetite!!! I think the best part was the first nap in the chair----HOME IS REALLY GREAT!!!

Here's hoping your recovery will continue to be smooth!!!

For me, it was getting to this computer to say hi and thank you to everyone here for the support, love, and encouragement. I still remember shaking violently from the Ativan withdrawal and barely being able to type one word much less many. :)

Ross, Evelyn
Yes you are both oh so right.
The first thing I did was nap in my recliner. Then I drug myself
to the shower. Heavenly.
Then I slept all nite in that recliner.
But sorry Ross, couldn't get to the computer till this morning.
My fingers do feel like stone also.
Still not much appetite.
Thanks again everyone.
Al

Don't worry Al, your appetite will come back with a vengeance in a couple of weeks, then look out! :D

Welcome home, Al!

Glad it all went as hoped for. You gonna' take another inventory and be sure all the important stuff is where it belongs now? Remote, book, glasses, computer, juice, meds, . . . ?

Hope it all stays on track. Good to have you back around.

Welcome home Al

Welcome home Al

Napping is important, a recliner is a blessing, and they are right, your appetite will return.

My heart went in a-fib for 2 days also, it's better when it happens in the hospital, then after you get home, and have to return via the ER.

Take care,

Terry40

That's what I am worried about Ross.
Thanks epstns, yes everything is where it should be next to my
recliner.
Hey monker, yes with the help of pajama bottems we kept
everything in place.
Thanks terry,
I was really worried, and still am a little, about that a-fib thing.
Yes I have been in the recliner the last two nights and a third
today, How about all this snow we are getting pounded with?
Doesn't look like I will be out for a blood test tomorrow.
Everyone take care and Thanks so much again.

No shoveling snow, we are really being hit. My family has been out there 3x already trying to clear the pathways, you can't even tell after a few hours.

I had someone come out to my home to get my bloodwork done, at least until I could drive, your PCP can set it up and for most insurances it doesn't cost any extra.

Don't worry about a fast heart rate either, mine is still going over 96 a minute, at rest, I'm sure it will calm down eventually.

Your doing better than I did, I wanted nothing to do with the computer for many weeks after surgery, even when my daughter offered her laptop.

stay warm and inside,

Terry40

Hey Al - welcome home - nice to be in your own surroundings, isn't it? Home is best. Sounds like everything went as planned. It's good on this side of the mountain - the approach is the very worst, but once on the uphill it becomes a piece of cake, more or less - just a bunch of soreness after, but is healing pain and they give us pills for that. Keep on keeping on. You will get better every day. God bless

Well I don't think I have to worry about you shoveling snow. I'm sure you wouldn't even try it if you had too. Me don't think it's possible for you at the present time.

Don't worry about that appetite thing. When the flavor and appetite come back, enjoy eating your favorites. Believe it or not, you won't over eat. Your tummy will have shrunk some by then and you'll get full fast, at least mine worked that way. ;)

terry- thanks for the info. Yes my wife has been out 3x yesterday
and it was a lost cause. You can bet I won't be shoveling for awhile.
Ross/hensylee
Again thanks for all the information and support.
It is greatly appreciated.
