Interaction of Ciprofloxacin and Warfarin?

Does anyone have any experience with taking Ciprofloxacin (an antibiotic) with Coumadin / Warfarin?

www.Drugdigest.org/DD/Interaction/ reports a Major Interaction but I don't know how to interpret that.

Any EXPERIENCE or other direct knowledge (AL Lodwick?, Others?)

If you suspected a "possible UTI" would you start Ciprofloxacin?
Or, Wait until the Lab Cultures are analyzed (24 to 48 hours)?

Al check your INR 3 days after starting the cipro. It should cause a very sudden rise in INR.

UTIs are usually pretty obvious. I start Cipro immediately - then again I am not the one that is anti-coagulated.
