Yes, I can think of two of them on here. I have no idea how all of that came about, and unfortunately they aren't on here anymore to ask questions.
 
I remember one member who had no insurance and chose to fly to India for his surgery. The surgery, air fare, hospital charges and recovery facility all cost considerably less than the surgery would have cost him in U.S. He posted long threads about his care and he was very satisfied with how it all went.
 
I would contact the hospital/hospitals ere you would like to have surgery or the surgeons office, and ask to get in touch with the cardiac social worker to work on getting financial aid etc. They usually not only know of what progms you might qualify for , but also be able to work out some "deals". If you are close to a good non profit hospital I would probbly look into their heart surgery program/surgeons too
