I usually test Tuesday mornings but couldn't today. Just tested, test #1= 1.3, test#2= Insufficient sample, test#3= 5.4 . These are a new set of test strips. I just readjusted the machine so the numbers matched, and did the tests. I don't believe either could be accurrate. I don't even want to call them in, but guess I will. What do you veterans make of it? Thanks, Brian:confused:

Brian,
Were all 3 tests with the new box of strips or was one from another batch? If they were all from the same batch, the only thing you can really do is test one more time to see what happens. I wouldn't feel comfortable with either reading you got.
You should let Hemosense know about the variances. You could have a bad box of strips - I am sure it happens now and then.

Agreed. Have you been ill recently? I know when my hematocrit is messed up, I cannot test with the machine.

Strange INRs

Strange INRs

Gina and Ross, Thanks for the replies. The strips were all from a new batch, and the tests were done consecutively. I haven't been sick that I'm aware of, and haven't had any unusual foods that I can think of. I'm going to try again in the morning, and if that doesn't give me more normal results, I'm going into the lab. Thanks, Brian

Hello,

Even though we do not manufacture the INRatio meter and strips, we do assist with technical support issues. Please call us at 800-563-5680 ex 2804 so our nursing staff can see what is causing the fluctuating results. Thanks!
