I'm doing very well at keeping my INR at 2.0-2.5 since my latest surgery. I know many of you thought I was crazy to go this low, but I have confidence in my surgeon and my cardiologist. I feel good about Dr Miller's recommendation to keep it at 2. He is no slouch, a very smart and published surgeon, and he doesn't want to see me again for a 4th surgery! Don't worry. I certainly am not.

I'll worry anyhow. It's my job. I'm happy your happy, but I think 2.0 is too close to 1.0.

I'm with Ross. I don't see the need to keep it so low. In regards to bleeding there isn't more than a few seconds difference between 2.0 and 2.8, and 2.8 has you father away from clot territory. Sorry - but I think it's the ol' "Dr.'s fear bleeding." that's causing him to encourage you to keep it so low.

If you find yourself watching what you eat so you don't lower your INR - 2 is definitely too low.

INR for a-fib?

INR for a-fib?

Alice is on warfarin for chronic a-fib. Her cardiologist told her to keep INR
2.0-2.5.
