Inr Too Low!!!!!!

Well, I've went the other way now. Went from 4.9 on friday to 1.7 on Monday. Called my new PCP aand no returned my call. So I called the second time. I was told that whoever took my message didn't give it to the Dr. (This sounds like a repeat of my old PCP.) I think I went from the frying pan to the fire as my grandmother would say. The woman who took the second call said , she would call back tomorrow

Sure I heard that before. I ask her about taking lovenox and she said, that they don't start it till it is under 1.5. I tried to tell her of my history with strokes& blood clots. Plus I've had blurred vision and blinding headache all day. I don't think this is a good sign. And now I am running low on supplies for my protime machine. Because medicare refused to pay for the last shipment!

I sure can't afford a 600.00 bill this time of yr. Thanks for letting me vent!

Happy Holidays!

So sorry you are having issues with your PCP.

As far as starting the Lovenox.......any reading below 2.5 with a MVR is suspect. Both my Dr down south and up north handle it the same way. This tells me it's documentated somewhere. Al may be able to point you in the proper direction if you need a paper trail.

Hi Gina & Al
After more than 24 hrs. the new PCP ass. called. Some of her direction didn't make much sense to be. The past week I was 5mg. and last friday it was 7.1 so we cut it in half for two days and that is when it went down like a rocket. The new PCP told me to take 5mg every day except sun. and 2.5. How is this going to bring it back up. I was the one who had to bring up the lovenox shots. They told me to continue them till it was at 2.5 like Gina said.
Gina you just too!!!!!smart. They for your input. I don't think half the Dr.'s have a clue. SHe didn't say how much or how often to give the shots. The only thing I have to go is what I have been told before.SHe wants me to retest tomorrow but I don't think it long enough for anything to change. I believe in the three day rule. What do you all say. I have too mant things to deal with this week. I am having Mike's family for xmas breakfast and My whole family the day after. We are expecting a snow storm. I just hope my youngest gets home from Purdue before the storm hits. Mike has been doing all the cleaning because I am still under dr. Orders not to use my left arm because of the pacemaker. HO! HO! Merry Xmas Everyone!!!!!!!!

Hi Sherrin,

Tryky hope they increased your dose for tonight. Your correct about testing tomorrow. Chances are there will not be much of a change until 48 hours have passed. The Lovenox is used every 12 hours, i.e. 2 injections daily until you reach 2.5.

Try to take it easy. Stress has caused my INR to go down in the past. Easier said than done at this time of the year. It may be time to let everyone know it's too much to handle. Entertaining and all. I am sure someone else can have the holiday gathering. You all can bring a side dish.
