Well, two weeks ago I was 0.9 then I took lovenox shots for a week. They thought it was the new med. I was put on. But now it is to high!In Three weeks it went from 0.9 to 4.9 today. I thought that my hemotogist was going to better than my other Doctors but I was wrong he is much worse. Qas called me yesterday to tell me a bout a program that they offer for people with medicare. They pay for supplies for you to test everyweek and you call them with the results.

Sherrin, sorry to hear you're having problems with your new hematologist. Is there a sensible plan in place to get you back on track? What was the lovenox for, to get your number back up quickly.?

Let us know how it goes...and don't let them "chase" the number too closely.

Sherrin,

4.9 wouldn't bother me as long as I wasn't bleeding. I wouldn't change anything but test again in a few days. Sorry you are on a teeter-totter.

Johnny,

I don't think the Lovenox affects your INR one way or another. That strictly measures the effect of warfarin. The Lovenox works on something different to reduce clotting that is independent of Warfarin. The Lovenox is to try to keep you from clotting by a different method until the INR is in target range.

Well, My primary Dr. on vacation this week, so I get to have another Dr. to tell what to do that probably knows less about this than I do.I was taking 7.5 than they changed it to 7mg. and then today it they changed it to 5. That is more than a 10% decrease. and was told to retest in two weeks. But this problem that I am in a program at QAS , I have to test every week. Medicare pays for the supplies. I guess time will tell!
