One of the great things about living in Australia is that we are a day ahead of the USA. Which was really good today as it is already May 22 and the new Indiana Jones movie opened. All I can say is WOW! Nothing like pure entertainment to take your mind off heart surgery.

Jeff.

Midnight here on the east coast of the US and my SO and my brother are off to see the advance screening (it "officially" opens tomorrow). I have to work in the morning so I will have to wait although it is really killing me to not go.

Glad to hear it was great - certainly expected but not really sure.

I am anxious to see this movie. Some of the scenes were filmed in our town. And they had lots of equipment and props.
They weren't here very long, around a week.
Harrison Ford is really nice and so were all the actors and crew. They tried all the different restaurants and were seen locally. They usually had people following them and some of the businesses had to close for them. At least until the excitement died down.
I didn't see Calista Flockheart and their little boy but some of my friends said she was really nice. They tipped very good at the restaurants and were easy to please. I know a few of the waiters and waitresses and they all had nice things to say.
Everyone from here is anxious to see if we recongize anything. Probably not.
We have quite a few film scenes done in the Southwest.
When the actors are nice it makes me want to see the movie more. I don't watch bad movies or sex movies but a little make believe action I suppose is okay. At least we know his are make believe.

We're off to see it tonight, so I'm glad to know that you found it entertaining.

That is so cool Missy, about the most exciting movie I've been involved in was Matrix Revolutions. They were filming in a railway yard that the corporation I work for owns. They built two railway stations out of wood that you would swear were the real thing. The most fun I had was watching the crew playing practical jokes on each other during filming sequences in perfect silence. The cast and crew were wonderful to deal with.

When we first knew they were coming for filming our construciton co. was contacted by the movie company and my husband went with two guys and a woman to see what they wanted done. We told them we would do it and they said when they got it figured out when and what they would contact us.
So I thought we were going to furnish the equipment and operators. But when the film company contacted us ( after waiting a while ) they wanted us to start like the next day. They just didn't give us enough notice and our equipment was tied up and we were committed on other jobs. I would have explained to the other customeres but my husband said that wasn't right and didn't want to and wasn't that excited about it. Said we had good customers and it would cost us money to move equipment and then move back.
He was right so we declined and come to find out they did it so cheaply. They rented a tractor and put a guy there to do the work. Local company supplied dirt for the pad. Just enough to say they put some.
I don't know if they would have paid our price or not. I was disappointed as I thought we might get to see what they were building and all that. But didn't happen. OH, WELL.

I found out the movie is sold out in the neighboring town. Our theater closed and they are building a new one but for now we have to go to movie somewhere else.

I don't know how long we will have to wait to get to see it.
