Oh Nancy -- thank you for posting this neat little link ... Here is what happened to us tonight. The kids were SOO excited about fireworks (as kids are!), they were bouncing around all day (as kids do!). Finally it was getting near dusk so I loaded them up and drove to the location the newspaper said was having fireworks tonight. We got there and there was hardly anyone around! Oh no! I drove over to the police station and the policeman told me the fireworks were LAST NIGHT -- the newspaper had printed the date incorrectly!
Boo ....Hiss ....Boo ...Hiss!!!
The kiddos (and mama!) were so disappointed
Anyway, we came back home and they did their little sparklers and snaps, then off to bed. I will let them play on this fireworks site in the morning. I am sure they will get a kick out of it!
we watched the Boston Pops in Tanglewood. (plus some of PBS from Washington). They do this every year and it's just like being there. Very inspiring. (also cool and comfy at home and no driving in all that crowd)
I too, watched the celebrations on TV. The fireworks were absolutely spectacular, so much more beautiful and complicated than our little communities around here could afford.
