I'm, happily, two years post-op as of today

Two years ago today I got the new valve. When I think back to how badly I felt pre-op as the old valve began to fail and how incapacitated I had become, it still amazes me how much better I feel now with the new one; it's really like night and day as to how much better a body works with an efficient pump! I had worn down so gradually that I hadn't realized how ill I had gotten pre-op until, of course, post-op!

The surgery was awful. The recovery was difficult. I'm not looking forward to any more of those. But I sure am glad to be alive and feeling so well now!

I hope it can be that much better for every recipient of a new heart valve!
