The Bionic Duo

Well here I am again, now with a brand new left knee--what a difference. Had my surgery on Dec 16, but this is the first time I have been able to sit in front of a computer for any length of time (I went back to work today and my chair here is more comfortable than the one I have at home.) I can't believe how much motion I had lost now that I am getting most of it back--it sure goes to show you how much punishment your body can take, and how much pain you can get used to.

Bob had his one year aniversary on Jan 22, and he's doing real well. Had one of those stress tests where the inject some radioactive material and everything came back normal!! Even though he is doing very well he has decided to go back for some more cardiac rehab now that he is only working part time and the rehab he was going to is going to start some afternoon sessions. The doctor was VERY delighted to hear that, he has not gotten his weight down as much as he would like him too I think (he got it down for a while but he put some of it back on over the holidays).

We finally got our home tester and I will start a thread about that in the coumadin forum. For a while we were not only dual bionic--we were also both on Coumadin!!! Found out though that the doctors esp none cardiac Dr's really don't have a very firm grasp on what coumadin therapy is all about--I found I knew a lot more that he did about it  Tankfully I am now off coumadin and just taking one baby aspirin a day now.

Hope all you valvers out there had a nice Xmas, and are doing great.

Joan
