Got the news I will need a MRI with contrast to celebrate my just a bit over 1 yr since my 3rd OHS.
I'm not looking forward to being jabbed with the large IV needle. Last time I needed this test, it took the person 3 tries to get it IN! It's been over a year since I've needed any large needles in my arm.
Ugh, I think I've had enough of these IV tries over the last year & a half! Oh well, one more isn't going to kill me. I used to fall asleep during my MRI's, but they've changed them, and now I'm wide awake the whole time. They are very noisy now, and buzzy, and the earphones don't cancel much now do they?

Hoping all goes well for you, Gail. I had an abdominal surgery three years ago and during the pre-op suffered three failed IV attempts before the fourth finally successful one and the missed IV locations literally hurt worse than the surgery did! Today I went in for a simple blood test and ended up with two knots, one in each elbow. Very irritating. You have my full sympathies! Anyway, drink water if they'll let you, an hour before your procedure, and the IV that finally was successful involved warming my hand or wrist -- I have forgotten now where the successful IV finally went in.

I 'm having the MRI with contrast on Wed, in 2 days. I needed to get a blood test beforehand for the 1st time. The metabolic panel. I'll ask why when I go for the MRI, as this is new for me to have a blood test before the MRI.
They always have gone smoothly for me, and I asked for a IV starter who knows what they're doing! Hope I get one!!
