Thanks everyone for all the feedbacks from my original posting, it was very helpfull for me.

I had a catherization done on June 1 and had my followup today June 8 with my surgeon. My cardiologist turned me over to my surgeon about 30 days ago.

My surgeon said that my cath looked good , that all that is showing is a leaky valve. I forgot to ask my surgeon if there where any signs of anurysms or stenosis, but I did ask the day i had cath done and the doctors said there where no signs of any. Since my surgeon didn't mention it , i assume i don't have those conditions.

Basically he siad my valve is leaking and that heart shows to be enlarged.

My surgeon said it's up to me when I should have the surgery, he said he had openings on June 24 or 27. I think this is to soon , i'm thinking to have it done in july.

I'm looking for any advice or opinion , of what i should do, should i get a second opinion from another doctor or any advice of questions i should ask my doctor to better determine the right time to do the surgery.

thanks again everyone , i hope to hear you suggestions

there will never be a right time to have surgery....you will always find a reason or something going on that will make you want to delay the surgery. i had surgery last week so read some of my threads on what went on or email me if you need specific step by step accounts of what i went through. not everyone has an easy ride going through surgery...just depends on your age, healthy, etc. i guess. to be honest....the worst part of this whole process was the stressing and worrying done before surgery. from the time i got to the hopspital...got blood drawn...to the time they took out the lung tubes and my central line....i never experienced any major pain what so ever....just discomfort from the lung tubes and from laying on my back all week. i had surgery last tuesday...may 31...and i have not even taken any vicodin for pain relief the last two days...and trust me...i am not one of these tough guys that can deal with pain. when i go to the dentist they gas me up because i hate needles and dont want to deal with the pain of them...lol the only thing i am going through right now is a tight chest due to the healing process. so if you need help through this let me know. you do not want to wait....your heart will get to a point where it is soo enlarged that even if they go in and fix it...it may not go back to its normal size....it is a muscle...stretch it out too much and it will give out. so take care of it sooner than later...you do not want to regret waiting too long and then you cant do anything about it....plus if it is anything like what i went through...you are going to kick yourself on why you waited soo long and get it done sooner...even though this surgery is major....it has not been a major pain for me...i know everyone is different but take you chances that it will be a good one.
