Hi Everyone,
I think my alter ego came out this weekend  With so much changing in my live without me being able to control it drives me crazy! Examples having no energy, having to give up my charity game this year, friends and family looking at me as if this may be the last time and my least favorite my body swelling up like a ballon I was doing so well losing my fat in the past year I have lost 130lbs go figure I start eating right and walking again and my heart acts up  So this weekend I went to my stylist and now I have shorter hair along with some bold red copper highlights plus this weekend is a tax free weekend so I figure if am going to have this surgery am doing it in style ;) Spend to much money but enjoyed myself I haven't shop like that since finding out about the valve replacement. ( Just for Ross ~ I bought thongs :p ) Now I just have to wait and drive everyone else crazy with me! My plan is to sit back and look at things from a postive outlook like 6-8wks out of work(love my Dr. and patients but they can be very stressful), good drugs, I want miss the fall lineup of new TV shows, someone else will be doing my cooking and cleaning for awhile, I want have to cut the grass I could go on and on and on but I want! I'll be back

But you gave me some great ideas.....I think I will have more blonde put in my hair and have it really styled , I can't buy thongs for I HATE the feel of them...( love my granny pants) but I will buy new pj. to hang around it.....if only I could let people around me help me that would be great. I feel so guilty if someone waits on me.........ugh my mom made me to independent........well anyway, good luck to you Stacy. When are you having this done? and where? I am going to Boston........I will try like heck to have a better attidute that what I have......you have a great one  .Take care and thanks for being so upbeat..........Jenny

Stacey,

It was tax free weekend here in NC too. I finally talked my mom into buying a new lap top she's been talking about getting for 2 years (she has a 6yr old Dell desktop on life support). We picked out a nice Toshiba (and some other supplies) and saved an additional 100.00 on tax + 250.00 in rebates. Since I'm still "on the shelf" for at least another week until I see my surgeon on the 16th, my job is to teach her all the ins and outs of XP (she currently has 98) and how to use the laptop without the help of a keyboard and mouse. Given her progress today, I got my work cut out for me. :D

I hope the next month flies by for you! :)

Jenny~ my surgery is Sept 8 @ MUSC in Charleston SC. Just going to love being in the Childern's ward(I was born with TOF so I always fall back to the Pedic side)
Byan~good luck teaching your mom how to use the laptop. I had to teach my grandmother how to use her desktop over a year ago I still get questions from her and I only showed her the basic stuff. One day she called me because her mouse wouldn't work come to find out she had it turned upside down I laughed so hard!
Ross~I love you even if you are a nutjob!

I found more ideas on how to spend my recovery time I can finally finsh some scrapebooking, read a good book(I haven't done that in years) I will have my computer time or I could start walking in the mall and do some shopping (If I have to there are always benches that I could take a nap on)

Oregon for shopping!

Oregon for shopping!

Stacey and Jenny

You both sound upbeat and ready to roll. Confidence is a very good thing and I suspect your positive attitudes are going to serve you well through your journey.

What's with the tax-free stuff? Here in Oregon we have NO SALES TAX whatsoever. Ask all the people who live in Washington state and come down for shopping frenzies and then dash back home!! I think the city of Vancouver, Washington has actually become what it is due to it's location right across the mighty Columbia River. The sweet deal is to live in Vancouver and work in Portland. No property tax, no sales tax.

Anyway, best of luck and we'll be keeping an eye on both of you as you get closer to your surgery dates!
