I know the doctors said this should pass with time, but I hate feeling cold all the time. OK, not all the time, but a lot more then pre-surgery. Just wondering how long it took for some of the others for this feeling to pass.

Marc,

It must have taken 6 or 8 weeks before I could even walk around the house without a Polar-Tec vest over my long-sleeved shirt and not shiver. Taking a shower was a mixture of pleasure in feeling all nice and clean, with a dose of total fear of feeling so cold before and after. We used an electric heater in the bathroom for those months. Then, almost suddenly, things got back to normal and I haven't felt extraordinarily cold since. Hang in there -- it will pass.

I hear ya brother. I can cool drinks with my hands at the moment. The cold water from the faucet feels warm to the touch to me, and I am pretty sure I can cool an ice-cube from the fridge into next state of being.

I think I felt cold for a couple weeks when I got home from Hospital...I do remember how warm I had to dress to go for walks here in the PNW during winter. I broke out a winter coat that I seldom ever would ever wear...glad it passed.

I'm 7 weeks post op, and still wear a jacket when it's 70 degrees out. I'm always cold. The only good thing about it for me is I'm in the shower, warm water, feeling great, and I use to be FREEZING when I got out of a shower, shivering uncontrollably. Now it's turn off the water, that was enjoyable but getting out its like my body is immediately the same temperature as my bathroom. It's wild, but I consider it a blessing amongst the curse of "The Coldness".

I remember feeling cold, very cold. But it passed as I'm sure it will for you. I think it took about 12 weeks.

Stay warm.

Phil.

Ah, yes ... that discouragingly cold feeling, I know it all too well.

It does pass, eventually, Marc, as others have noted. I, too, was sssooo cold after my most-recent surgery, but as I got better, that feeling disappeared ... at least the dreaded cold feeling....if that makes sense. ;)
