Yup, my electricity provider is Hydro One in Ontario; that probably explains why so many of my farmer neighbours have alternate power sources. We have often considered buying and installing our own wind turbine in the hay fields, but the start up cost is still quite high these days. A few down the road have them and more than likely are able to include them as a "business expense" on their tax return.
Hmmm, maybe it sounds worth it after all.
Nothing would give us greater pleasure than phoning Hydro One and telling them to take their Hydro Pole and stick it....
 
Somewhere in this Province we have quite a few windmills, all generating "green" power.... all going down the same power lines as the coal generating power plants and all going to the power station
But here's the catch; if you go with green power you pay more for electricity :confused:
